(From Our Own Correspondent.); . Monday, The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday. Present—Messrs Matthews (chairI man), W. E. Bidwill, Jas. Donald, J. P. Russell, Nix, Harris, Evans, andMcLeod. . ■.;■■...'-- The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, .'.; . THE TREASURERS'BEPOBT, The Treasurer's report was read showing overdraft on ordinary accounts £57, and on Loan accounts £750, Accounts amounting to £359 5s lid were passed for payment. COHKKSI'ONDGNCE. The following correspondence was received and dealt with as follows: From Messrs D. Smith, G, Pain, and D. McLaren asking for information re road recently surveyed through tkeirproperties.—TheClerk was instructed to apply for tracing from Mr F. A. Thompson, the Government Surveyor. E. Buick wrote re state of road to Nikau Valley. The Clerk was instructed to have a return of thirds for next meeting. F. W. Good, poundkeeper, re a horse taken from the Pound by Mr Hiley for his, which subsequently turned out to be Mr O'KeeffeV The poundkeeper asked for instructions as to obtaining the fees which are refused. It was resolved that the poundkeeper should tako proceedings for the recovery of the fees. G. Lawrio asking for leave to cut a drain alongside the road near the Waihenga Bridge. Resolved that the Board should not grant the application. N. Poison re cattle straying about the roads at Morrison's Bush. Re : solved that tho ranper be instructed to see to this.
F. Olson re tho clearing of the drain in front of his property. Re-' solved that he should seo to this matter. • S. W. Feast re drain flooding his property. Resolved that the etigineer see to this matter. D, Cameron re bridlo and cattle track out at Ruakekopotuna, Left ill the hands of the engineer. Land Board Office re expending of loans on Waipoura Division, J. R. Baunt, Mayor of Linwood, re the settlement of unemployed difficulty. Laid on table. . TEDDERS. The following tenders were received for the undermentioned works:— For Bridge in Ward's Line: W. Benton L 49 (accepted); P. M. RobandLsl ; W. T. Fletcher L 62 10s; J. T. Smith L 69 14s 9d (declined). Metalling 500 yards GreytownTauherenikauroad:. Isßd per chain, T. McGuinness and Owen Haycock (accepted); 2s 5d per chain; J. T. Smith; 2s 8d percbain, G. Wiggins; 3s 6d per yard, T, Loury.jJueclined). Sixty-two chains formation, Wairongamai, Western.iake: 17s per chain, J. Willis ;16s 6dper chain, J. T. Smith ;"15s 3d, E. Kelly. The acceptance of this tender was left in the hands of the Chairman. ,_ RETORTS. The Worlcs Committee reports were received, also the Engineer's report which'wdsr adopted. The requirements of Wardens wore then taken, whicli closed the meeting.
