We have received the balancesheet of the New Zealand Farmers' Dairy Union. It is evident from the figures that so far tho Company has had a rather tough battle to fiejht. Its paid up capital only amounts to £lOl9 and although it shows a profit on tho year's transactions of £ 3Ol, this is only obtained by treating £650 of preliminary expenses as au asset. On the other hand it has surmounted the many difficulties incidental to floating, a concern of this character, and has laid the foundation of a large, and we trust a profitable business, It should be in a position during the coming season to reduce the cost of manufacture and to largely increase its output. That its operations are handicapped by inadequate capital at the present time is tolerably obvious, but possibly, when it gets into full swing, which it will do during the coming season, it may be able to surmount this difficulty.
