In the Houso the Hon. Mr Ward recently stated that an officer occupying a high position in one the Australian Banks, was a Director of the Irnninj Press. Tho gentlereferral to has writcn to Mr Ward, stating he is not a director, but that ho took shares in the paper in tho interests of Temperance, and understanding that , the paper was,to be non-political. He also expressed concurrence in the remarks mado by the Colonial Treasurer as to the article in question,
