COMMERCIAL.
Mr F. H, Wood reports of the stock sale hold by him yesterday at the Tavatahi yards as follows: - Entries were good, more stock coming forward than was advertised. About 200 head of cattle and 1200 sheep wero yarded, Sheep sold readily, but bidding for cattle dragged considerably, and several lots were passed in undor the hammer, though most were sold privately afterwards, prices realised being about equal to last sale rates, and quoted as under, viz:—
Siieki'.—Hoggets, 5s to 9s; ewes in lamb, Cs fid to 10s lid; cull do, 4s fid to Cs; fat and forward wethers, 12a7d.
Catok,—Calves, 20s to 275; yearlings and 18 months, 32s to 455; 2 and 2s year old steers, 60s to 80s; heifers in calf, 60s to 100s j cows, 80s to 140s j 3 and 4 year old bullocks, 90s to 102s Gd; medium beef, 120s. Hoksks,—From £2 to £l2.
