Bed Star Football Club.

Social and Dance,

The complimentary social, given in honour of the South Canterbury football team, by the Red Star.Clu'b held in the Drill Hall last' ovening, was a pronounced success, both from a sociable and monetary point of view. The room was filled with about one hundred and fifty couples and the stage was well occupied with spectators. The hall was prettily decorated with photos of football groups, scenory, and ferns, and the lloor perfection itself. The utmost credit is due to Messrs Enimett and Hansen who were mainly instrumental in the success of the affair, and they received considerable holp from other prominent members of the Club. The excellent music of Messrs Kerslcy and Gray earned well-deserved applause from' the dancers, and extras were played by tlio Misses Williams and Cullen, and Mr Wyvern Williams. Tho duties of M.C.'s wcro ably undertaken by Messrs Norton, Jeffries and Hansen, who kept the fun going in a truly merry stylo till the' small hours of the morning. During the evening, songs were ably rendered by Miss Cran, and Messrs Winsley and Millar, and a brilliant recitation by Mr J. Owen proved a perfect treat. Altogether the Star Club is to be congratulated upon the thorough success of last night's gathering, which proved the most enjoyable danco of the season. The Canterbury footballers speak in high terms of the treatment they received from all concerned, and leave Masterton witli kindly recollections of its hospitality.
