AKITIO ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary Meeting, A meeting of the Board was held on Thursday last, Presont: Messrs Handysido (chairman), Armstrong, Foreman, and Burling. Correspondence was read from tlie Commissioner of Crown Lands, re accrued thirds and fourths.
From same, with forms of certificate for pledging thirds and fourths in reduction of special rates. From County Engineer, with explanation of error in the plans for the Aohanga Valley road contract No. %
From same, with plans and specifications for substituting pipes for timber culverts in above road,
From County Clerk re Engineer inspecting contracts. From Mr MeCullogh and others, applying for the use of the Road Board olliccs for school purposes.
Prom Land and Income Tax Department, with forms of declaration to sign re subsidy payable under the L.B.F. and Powers Act, 1886. From Mr Dully, re rates in arrears. From Mr Herbert, offering to complete 18i chains road formation, loi chains of drain, and If chains of formation to raako the line continuous with the Gorge section. The Clerk of Works report was read and considered.
It was resolved: -That tho Clerk bo instructed to reply to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, re the expenditure of accrued thirds and fourths.—That Mr McCullogh and others he allowed the use of the olllee for school purposes, except on the days required for Board business. —That a cupboard be procured for the Board—That Mr Herbert's offer be accepted to complete 18s chains of road formation, 151 chains of drain, and H chains of formation for £77 13s 9d. —That a general rate of a half-penny in the £ be struck for the current year.
| Accounts amounting to £3l 8s 6d were examined and passed for payment, and next meeting was fixed for September b'th.
