FEATHERSTON NOTES.

Friday. Mr Jas. Smith, of tho Empire Hotel, has disposed of his interest, to Mr Card, late licensee of tho Star and Garter Hotel, Wellington. Much regret is expressed at the change, as Mr Smith has always been very popular.
Tho Whareama and Feathcrston footballers are to meet to try conclusions at Greytown on Friday next. _ To-night the business in connection with the late ball is to be wound up, and I nm informed that tho net proceeds will fully justify expectations, Tliercworc'lots of little inoidental expenses in connection with the carrying out of tho ball. Messrs Tait and Cox, who took over Mr W. Bock's business, arcs building an office near tho old site.
