.The following.is extracted from A£ tho report of the W.R.0,, to be sub- • mitted at',the meeting..of.mdmbers, at the Foresters' Hall, Groytown, August 23rd, at 11 a.m.:— 1;'. . -' In submitting the fourth' annual report and balance-sheet, your Stewards have much pleasure.in again being able to show that the Club is in a healthy position. ,', : ',;: ; Reference to the statement of the receipts and expenditure of the summer and autumn meetings will show that ; tho: profits ,■ compare favorably with last season, notwithstanding that;tho Government Tax had to bo paid but of the ten per cent, commission bn'totalisatbr investments. Tho commission'for the two meetings , j amounted to £190.1s 3d, The gross "" returns for 1893, wheivthe investors j had to pay one-and-a-half per cent,, ' was£l4lß7sßd; and for 1894, when tho one-and-a-half percent; was paid out of the ten per cent,, £13416s 6d, Arrangements have been entered into with the .Trustees of the, courso for a new lease of tho property for 14 years, at the same rental, with the proviso that as each £IOO is paid off the oxistiug.moi'tgages, | ance of £7 will be.made in tho ' rental. The lease is now. being drafted, It'is recognised that the interest of the two bodies is identical, ! as the property is held in trust for racing purposes,' Notices of motion, for the annual meeting have been received :-- rI.'MrJ.S. Cundyf-That Messrs W.E. Bidwill and H. S. Izard be -#i appointed. trustees on behalf of. the Club to take a leaso of tho Taulierenikau Race Courso andallappui'ten- ' ances for a temi of 14 years, at an annual rental of £7O per annum, . /2.
