WELLINGTON MEAT EXPORT COMPANY, LIMITED.

Fifth Annual Repoit.

The following is the annual repork of the above Company" Tho Directors are pleased to report tlwt tho results of the Company's operations for tho past year have been satisfactory, From the profits of the year the Company is able to provide for buildings and plant £3,998 6s Bd, and to replace the Reserve Fund, which was absorbed by the losses of tho previous year, £4OOO, leaving a balance of £2,660 14s Gtl, out of which it is proposed to pay a diyidend of five per cent,, which will absorb L 2,496 15s Id, leaving L 163 19s 5d to carry forward,

The quantity of stock dealt with during the past year has been considerably in excess of the previous year's work, and during most of the; summer the Company's plant, both at Waterloo Quay and Ngahauranga was fully employed, The Directors regret to report that on tho night of June sth tho Tallow and Manure Works at Ngahauranga wero destroyed by fire. The loss to tho Company in replacing the works will not exceed £SOO, which lias been provided for in tlio' Balance-sheet. In addition there was a loss upon tho Manure in stock amounting to about £4OO. The loss does not appear in tho Balance-sheet except in reduction of tlio profits.

The Directors aro glad to report to Shareholders that the new Freezing Plant at Ngahauranga continues to givo very satisfactory results, and theßoiling-Down and Manure Works were found so efficient that they will be restored with but very slight alterations.
