THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.

The Colony may he now fairly said to be alive to the importance of this industry (says the New Zealand Trade Review) and the number of factories is on the rapid'increase. Tho follow, ing are the numbers of factories and creameries existing in New Zealand at the present time : Factories. Creameries. The Government is also in earnest in its efforts to encourage and promote the industry, which is seen to be a potent factor in the settlement of the land. Tho number of instructors appointed by the Department has been increased from two to six, three of whom will work in each of the two Islands.
