Ho said no works were being done except those they absolutely were compelled to do, and creii tlieso would huvc to be stopped. No. 8 Ward is indebted £7l6', and the only Wards in credit are Nos, 2, 3, and 4.
An application from Mr Ilidgway to improve a cutting on the road to his property, and one from Mr .1, Bayliss to clean out a drain had to be refused, as well as other works of a minor character.
A deputation comprising Messrs Kcmpton and Peterson waited on the Board and asked for a road to bo laid oft' to their Bclvedero properties. "No funds" said the Chairman, and all the satisfaction they could get was a promise from the Chairman to interview Mr Booth and try and get them permission to cross his land. A Mr Ackerman having cut a ditch on tho road at Piirkvnle to drain his land, it was resolved to give him notice to fill it in at once, It was resolved that Messrs Williams and Beethnm be requested to cut down the broom on their property where it overhangs on Norfold road, te prevent it seeding on to the thoroughfare.
Accounts amounting to £lO5 were passed for payment.
