FIRE AT FERNRIDGE.

A house belonging to Mr 0.1, Prentice, at Fernridge.was destroyed by fire 011 Wednesday last. The houso (valued at £200) was unoccupied, and Mr Prentice was to have gone into it shortly. The building was insured with tiio Standard Eire Insurance Company (of which Mr G. S. W, Dalrymplo is tho local agent) for £l5O. The destruction of tlio house was discovered by Mr R.Dagg at about 7.30 on Wedncsday morning, and ho sent word to Mr Prentice but the message was not delivered, and Mr Prentice only heard of the lire last evening. The origin of tho fire is a mystery.
