GREYTOWN LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY.
(From Our Own Correspondent).
A meeting was held in tho school Inst (Tuesday) ovenihg for the purpose of deciding the best means ol spending the balance in hand, £3 3's, of the above Society, which had become defunct.
Tho Kov. W, Rowso was voted to the chair, and Mr A, McKenzie elected Secretary. It was resolved after numerous proposals to reform, the Society to bear the same name, and to spend the money in its promotion. Mr Geo. Wyottwas oloctcd president, andMrß. Y. Shearer, 'treasurer.
Resolved to hold future meetings in tho sohoolhouse, on dates to be fixed at the first meeting to be held noxt Tuesday; at 7.30 p.m. , Tho Rev. W. Rowso and ; Mi'Tliix were appointed to draw up rules, rind Mr Wi P. Roydhouso to prepare a short paper, to be submitted.at next ,meeting.; ■' ' ';.' ■ ■ : . ! '
