SPORTING.
Yesterday afternoon MrHalwnrd's two horses, Kent and Swordbclt wero offered by auction by. Messrs A, G. Tainoand Co., Wellington, but' the bidding was not of a particularly brisk nature. Kent was started at 1 75 guineas.and went up to 195gs, at which price he was knocked down to Mr A. W. Cave, of Masterton. Swordbelt was then placed under' tho hammer, and from a 10 guinea start he reached 35 guincas,at which price Mr Cave purchased him,—N,Z Times.
