MASTERTON RECHABITE TENT.

Ihirteenth Anniuersary. Social. ■ I Tho Thirteenth Anniversary Social in connection with the Mastcrton Rcchabito Tent, was held in the Temperance Hull last (Thursday) evening, There was a fairly large attendance. Pearson's Private Band played several selections outside the Hall prior to the commencement, in ft very creditable manner, The first item on the programme, was an overtnrc by the Masterton Orchestra, but owing to some reason or other it was given jn the second part of the programme, and reflected great credit on thq members, Mr j D. Robinson, whose' na'mo was next.] on the programme was unable to fulfil his duties owing to a very bad cold, A song by Mr Lilly was substituted, and- was rendered in fine stylo. Mr Davys next gave' a recitation which was well recoived, A song by Jliss Cran was very well i rendered as was also ut musical quartette by Messrs G. and T. Gray, G. Nicol, and S. Miuilie.

At this stage refreshments were handed round, ami after full justice had been done to thorn, the second part of the programmo was commenced,

Tho Chairman, Mr Frasor, in a few well chosen words, referred to the benefits of the Order, and said they compared favourably with any other Friendly Society iu existence i He also referred to the rapid growth |of the Order in the Colony as a whole, and said it bid fair to become a leading Order. He advised any young man not belonging to any other lodge, to at once identify himself with the Rcchubitics and. he would not regret tho step. Vocal items were then given by Miss Perry, Messrs W.])ougall,S. Ralph, and a violin solo by Mr Candy, each contribution being warmly applauded. A double quartette by theWcsloyan Choir, under Mr J. J. Boagcy, was one of the best items of the programme. Tho accompaniments were played by Miss Pearson and Miss Williams, the social being, on the whole, very successful..
