Oariebton, Wednesday. The adjourned, meeting of. the j Licensing Committcowas hold at tho Courthouse, Carterton/ yesterday,' Prosont: Mossra.T. Hntchison.S.M., (Chairman), J, Donald, J. Stevens, W. Miller, G. A.. Fail-brother, N. draco, and A. 0. Considine.

In respect to tho Lake Ferry accommodation license it was resolved to grant a renowal conditionally on the licensee enlarging tho premises and fitting up two rooms tor lodgers. A ronownl of the liconso to Mrs G, Brown, Tauoru Hotel, was granted, a caution against Sunday trading boing given. Tho application for permission to conduct a post and telephone office on tho promisos was refused, and three months was granted in which to nmko arrangements for its removal.

Mr John Bertie was granted a liconse for the White Hart Hotel, Carterton, the, fire escapes to be completed to tho approval, of tho , Inspector. ; The Club Hotel, Fcathcrston : Mr Geo. K. Bond, architect, Masterton, submitted plans of a proposed new building to be ei'ccted on the site of the late Club Hotel. The structuro will .have a frontage to Fitzherbcrt street of 90fcot, and contain 42 rooms.

A renewal of tho liconso was granted to Mr ft J. Soai-1, and a permit to carry on the business in temporary premises for ouo month was granted, the licensee to lodge an application rath the Clerk for a continuance of, tho permit at the oxpiration of that poriod.
