Besides' paying off all debts, to the extent of about £l2, for the first time for many years tho balance is on tho right side of tho ledger, Aji innovation was introduced into this season's catalogue, m tho shapo of an amateur class, aiid judging from the first season's experience, this promises to prove an attractive class in tho catalogue. Three Shows were hold during the year, viz., tho Spring, Autumn, and Chrysanthemum Shows. The Spring Show—although held several weeks earlier than usualwas a success in ovcry way and particularly in tho receips at the door. The Autumn Show was fairly successful, the large number of pot plants shown, and the extra number of exhibits entered by the outside public, being tho especial features of this Show. Tho Chrysanthemum Show, in connection with which, it was decided to hold a promenade concert and dance, did not prove a success, Having held three Chrysanthemum Shows and done their best'to encourage residents to take up the higher cultivation of this popular flower your Committee are of opinion that itisnotadvisablo to attempt to hold another Chrysanthemum Showfor somotimotocomo. In conclusion tho Committee would tender tho thanks of the Society to all those ladies and gentlemen who kindly acted as judges at the Shows and assisted at the concert, to tlioso who so generously contributedspccial prizes, and to the members of tho different bands who rendered musi- 1 cal selections atthedilferentShows." 1
