FEATHERSTON NOTES.

Monday, A very interesting football match between Fcalherstoti and the Papawai native teams took place here on Saturday. The ground was in ft very sloppy condition and mad j itvery hunt for running. After a very well contested game Featherston won by one try to the Natives' nil.
I am informed that tenders for the re-buildiug of the Club Hotel are to be called this week, The new hotel will cover the old site as well as that section on which Pointon's shop used to stand.
Sheep continue to go away from here, a consignment of 12 trucks wentdownbythis morning's train lo the Gear and Export Company,
