ARRIVAL OF THE NEW WATERBURY.
It is not often that the arrival ol a shipment of goods in New Zwiland waters is so generally welcomed as thij arrival of the present parcel of Waterbury watches. By the fire on tholtuahine 3000 WilEllllUMSgold, silver, and nicke!-were destroyed, and this interruption in the regular inflow has kept the market bare till the landing of the present parcel. The Hon, Dr. Pollen stated in tho Legislative Council that 95,000 Anow: Maies pay the whole of this colony's taxation, maintains its Ci v il Service, run its railways and public works and form the nucleus of the colony's prosperity; and yet to this very limited population over ' 120,000 Wat.'shbobts have been sold and delivered, and the ship, montnow finding coasistsol 2880 Wateimbss which is followed by the Elinor Vernon, due 2860 all cold already to the wholesale trade who have been waiting supplies' for from three to four months. Large as these figures are two other shipments are to arrive before Christmas and we venture to aQirm that no other watch can show a salo in New Zea land during the period covered since the Waterbury advent of One io Each Hmdbed Watebbtots.
