Agricultural Conference. Sheep and Cattle Stealing.

Thefollowing resoltitKfWl.e been passed by the Agricultural Confer-, ence:—" That in view of the largo revenuo 'derivod from the taxation of stock, the Government be requested to appoint a competent person in such centres as may bo considered necessary,, for the purposes of detecting any sheep or cattle stealing." " That iu the opinion of this Conference the prevalence of sheep and cattle stealing in various parts of tho Colony is so serious, that the special attention of the Minister of Justice should becalled to theurgent necessity of taking immediate steps to detect and punish offenders, and that suggestion be made to the Stock Department to offer a reward for the conviction of sheep and cattle thieves,, .mmi out of a fund raised by aspeej^i? i ** '■ on sheep."
