Bridges Washed Away. (By Telegraph—Press Association). FkiIiDIiVO, Wetlnesday. H eavy floods in tlio Oroua, washed away a hundred feet of the railway bridge at Aorangi shortly after 10 o'clock this morning, Trains liavo been detained in I'eilding since yesterday afternoon, but passengers wero forwarded to Palmerston by coach to-day. Many conntry bridges have been either washed away or damaged. The mail coach to Waituna last night upset in tho Tikino. Two horses wero drowned, but the passengers all escaped witli difficulty. Bridges in tho Borough of I'eilding have suffered but it is impossible to estimate the damage yet. Bain has now ceased and 'the weather is line.
