The Detectives and the Fortune-Tellers.
(By Telegraph,—Press Association) Auckuxd, Tuesday. At the Police Court three charges of fortune telling by palmistry were heard against threo women named Mrs McCallum, Madamo Zcphy and Madame Veaux, The informations were laid by Detective Chrystall and Acting-Detective Bailey. Crystall deposed that he went to Madame Zephy's, who rend his character from the lines on his hand. She told him he would have a long and prosperous lifo, and would make agood detective, he replied " not much!" (Laughter). He paid half-a-crown for the consultation. Acting - Detective Bailey gave corroborative evidence. Mrs McCallum was committed for trial. The other cases have not concluded.
