Tho unusually fineand bright weather that has for some time been favouring Masterton, caine to an end on Saturday last. It to followed by light rain, which has continued steadily ovor since, and which to-day becamo a heavy southeast gale with heavy downpour. In consequence of the paper and rubbish that lias_ collected in tho gutters, tho culverts in town have become flooded, and in several places the wator has overflowed tho footpath. Tho Borough staff has beon engaged in cleaning the culverts.
