Friday. On Monday, T. Campbell was charged before Mr J. G. Cox, with being drunk and disorderly; lie was fined 10s and costs, and cautioned as to his future behaviour.
A special consignment of thirtythree trucks of sheep went from here this morning, for the Gear and Export Companies. A young married couple who came up from Wellington by Inst night's train, were received with a plentiful supply of rice as they landed on'the platform, Featbcrston wore a regular holiday aspect yesterday, hardly anyone l was to be seen; those who did not go shooting'availed themselves of the cheap railway fares. A short while ago a quilt was stolen from off Mr W. Paulin"'s clothes line, and a buggy rug from Mr E. J. Scarf's. The thefts were l brought home to a man who has been | travelling tho district with a woman i of ill-fame, bo also being the perpetrator of the Taratahi theft. Ashe pleaded guilty to the theft of the quilt he was sentenced to one months imprisonment, yesterday, at Carterton, and taken to town to-day, Om-respected townsman, MrDeering, who has been away on a holiday 'up north, returned on Wednesday looking much refreshed by his trip,
