Reception of Mr and Mrs W. E. Bidwili.

(Prom Our Own Correspondent). Tuesday, The employees of the Pihautea Station gave a most hearty reception to Mr and Mrs W, E. Bidwill yesterday, who then returned from their honeymoon trip. A triumphal arch bearing the words' Welcome Homo' was erected over the gate, and tho Greytown Brass Band supplied the musical portion of the programme. They commenced playing at half past eleven in tho morning, In tho afternoon all drove to Boto Tawai, where Mi' Bidwill's new house is in course of erection. The band here rendered a few selections also. In •the evening a large number gathered in the wool shed, whioh was most tastefully decorated withferns, Here Mr W. S. Wakelin, on behalf of the present and past employees, presented the happy couple with a very kandsome plated combination dish suitably engraved, and an address expressive of thegrateful esteem and lasting regard in which Mr Bidwill is held. Their health was drunk by the whole assembly. Mr Bidwill thanked the donors, who numbered forty-two, in a very feeling manner. A most enjoyable social was afterwards held, the music for the latter being supplied by the Greytown Band until mid-night. This party then left, three hearty cheers being given them, but the dancing was kept up until the small hours to the tune of the banjo, cornet, and violin respectively of private individuals.
