Onehunga Borough Council.
A Disappointed Crowd-No Quorum (By Telegraph.—Press Association) Auckuxp, Tuesday. An unexpected development occurred at Onehuiiga last night, the date of the ordinary meeting of the Borough Council. Two councillors and a big crowd, including many Auckland, put in an a night's fun. Half an hour passeil but the Lady Mayor and her supporters were conspicuous only by their absence. Cr Wade then arrived, and stated that ho had mot Mrs Yates in tho street, She told him tlmt there would be no meeting of the Council that night. The disappointed audience then dispersed. Captain Yates, interviewed, said the reason for the unexpected postponement of the meeting was that Mrs Yates had heard that a number of strangers wero goiug out from Auckland to attend the meeting and that she having another engagement, nnd being desirous of upholding tho dignity of Onehnnga, had gone to town. When asked why the whole of tho members present had not received notice, bo said that, of course, if there was no quornm, there would bo no business done,
