GREAT FIRE IN NEW YORK.
Destruction of . the Brooklyn Tabernacle, New York, 14th May The Brooklyn Tabernacle has been destroyed by fire, The fire took place at the conclusion of Dr. Talmage's -morning service. | The Holy Land relics were burned, The Regent Hotel caught, and was, also destroyed. The fire originated in connection with the electric motor working the organ in the Tabernacle. The total damage is estimated at over 1,000,000 dollars. Dr Talmage observed the fire after his service hatl been concluded, and cautioned the congregation against a panic. It was owing to this precautipnthatno casualties occurred. The cost of the building destroyed was £44,000
