(From Our Own (Joirespondent,) Wednesday, Yesterday tho firo brigado had to stop work frequently, owing to the scarcity of water, and yet thoy were being supplied from the reservoir. Let us hope that people here may
now see the necessity of doing something in the way of having a proper supply of water in the town, if they [won't move'in tho matter of afire brigade
Tho fire brigado were not able to leave the lire till ijho early hours of this morning, and there is a big heap of debris burning yot. Large numbers of spectators watched the proceedings, scattering tbo fire at times, The (lax was insured for £ls per ton, not £lO as I previously stated.
The following is the Feathorston team, which will journey to Carterton on Saturday to play that team, as they wero not able to play last Saturday owing to the wet:—Fullback : Kenny ; three-quarters: Hyland, Speedy, McCarthy; halves: Burnside and Willis; forwards: Sheen (2), Nemo (2), Alley, Jewell, A. Hyland, G. Burt, Stranger.
