Izard. Tho minutes of the previous meeting were read and confinned. cillora Fabian, Lonsby, and Kogcrs waited upon the Trustees, with a request that.they would consent to the Council taking a ship of land one quarter of a chain, from tho Trustees under the Public Works Act, for the purpose of widening East St. Hesolved tliat tlio Trustees will oiler no objeciipitjtpjhe lund'boing takon providing Ibe Council ngrco to removo and erect the fence, protect present trees for the spaco of five years and pay the Trustees tho sum of £1 towards the cost of planting more trees.
Tho Secretary reported that owing to somo of the tickets for the lalo Hospital Ball not having been accounted for, he had been unable to closo accounts ami prepare a balance sheet, but that he hoped that the .total net profits, including Goveinsubsidy, would not be far short of £250, and at least £IOO better than any previous result. Resolved that a hearty voto of thanks he recorded in the minutes of the Trustee?, to all those ladies and gentlemen who had ro kindly and generously assisted in making the ball both a social and fiifi®p*«ticces3, especially to the managfng,<qij|fiug,- and decoiatiny sub-committees, also a special vo'e of thanks to the Hon. Secretary of tho Ball Committee. Resolved that a vote of tb-uiks be recoided and forwarded to tho JhVe" Yule of South Featherston for a [, : tt of invalid's wheel chair, for the benefit of Hospital patients. Mr Miller, visitor for the past month reported favourably of the hospital. The secretary reported that Dr Mc Gregor had paid a visit to the hospital, and expressed himself as Very favourably impicsscdw'th the ' hospital and its management. In fact ho could find no fault with it, Mr Izard offered to rent the hale acre of land in Kuratawhiti St. the property of the Hospital Trustees, at £1 a year from year to year, aim keep fences in repair. Resolved that the offer be accepted. II • Izard was appointed visitor for ensuing month.
