FEATHERSTON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Last evening Professor Halconibe exhibited his World's Fair Concert Phonograph. There was a very good house, though some had turned up the previous night owing' to the plaoards having Tuesday, May 9th on them, MrHalcombe explained the working and mechanism of the phonograph, as well as giving 8 short sketch of the inventor, Mr Edison's life. Ha then proceeded to give records of some very pretty voca i mmioel, and orchestral selections' whioh were duly appreciated by the audience. One of the audienoe spoke into the phonograph, giving Shakespeare's" Seven Ages of Man," hut owing to his not having recited loud enough thfl record was a bit indiatinot so the exhibitor B poke a few w or da into it himself, whioh was olearly reproduced.
