Monthly Meeting. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The usual monthly meeting of the above was held last evening. Present: His Worship the Mayor, and On Fabian, Rogers, Izard, Eea, MoMaster, Beard, Loasby and Kempton. | It waß resolved to go on with the removal of the fence of the Catholic Cliuroh ground to widen Kiiratawhiti Road, and call upon the Catholio Trustees to give them a title, under the Land Transfer Act, and ask tfie Trustees to give a little towards the expenses. I An application for refund of license fees paid by Mr McGuinness for carts on tho ground that he did not ply Lf hire, was held orer until next meet<

Permission was granted to Mr R. W, Tate to plant trees on Belgrave and Great Frederick streets, The resignations of Megan p. H, Wood and R. Bright as members of the Library Oonimittee, having vacated their seals on the Borough Uouucil, were accepted with regret. Tlio Lands Department wrote that the application for grant for MafcaraP/a Bridge would be taken into account when the estimates for the year were being prepared. It was resolved to give the'Greytown Band Concert, to be held on Thursday, 17th instant, the Council's patronage, The action of the Mayor iu getting deeds executed by lessees of Trust Lands, giving IGjft depth of land to the Council to widen East Street'was approved,

It was rosolvod to appoint a committee comprising Crs Loasby, Fabian, and Rogers to ascertain if the Town Lands Trustees would oonsent to the laud being taken under the Public Work's Act, bb the Board's solicitor thought that money could not be expanded without the land being freehold.

The Overseer's and Work's Committees, and other reports were read and adopted. Accounts to tho the amount of i 122 lGs 8d were passed for payment. It wa6 resolved that in the opinion of the Council it was desirable to have a night watchman for Greytown. * Cra Loasby and Izard were appointed to the Library Committee, Resolved to hold a special meeting to receive report of Committee appointed to interview the Town Lands Trust re East street, to cousider the position of the library, and to receive the Burgess Roll aud Defaulters List.
