Featherston Road Board

Monthly Meeting.

The usual meeting of the Board was held at Featherslon on Saturday. Present-Wardens Donald, Harris, McLeod and Evans; the newly elected wardens Messrs Matthews, Nix and Russell also took their seats. Warden Matthews was elected Chairman on the motion of Warden Russell. The Chairman thanked ihem for the honor done him, and also welcomed Mr Eussell as a member of the Board,

The Treasurer's statement showed the amount of overdraft on ordinary account at date at £1122 Is 2d, and against loan account £llOO, The additional one-eighth of a penny rate will give about £560 more revenue and should enable the Board to clear the overdraft,

Considerable correspondence was dealt with; several necessary works being authorised; - - ' The Engineer's report was read and adopted, tbe works advocated being authorised, particularly the clearing out of the drain on Knapp's line j repairs to the Coast Road; metalling from the Town boundary to Bidwill's I cutting, metalling Tutu road; and the thorough overhaul of the fiuarnahunga Bridge. The requirements of Wardens were stated and the meeting adjourned.
