Wellington, Tuesday. Between two nnd three hundred unemployed held a meeting on the. Reclaimed Land this morning, when deputations vers formed to wait on tlioPiemieratiji Mayor.

One speaker said tho distress in Wellington was morn acute than most people thought, and men were actually sleeping out in railway ciirriegeß and other places.

The Mayor, in reply to ft deputation which waited on him, said ho was extremely sorry to see such a large number of unemployed a'nout, and it appeared that workmen from all parte, of the colony were flocking into the citv.
