(From Our Own Correspondent.) j Saturday. ~A very neat Amrrican organ baa just reached Carterton. It ia for the Roman Catholic Church, and will be paid for by subscription.
Mr T. Bay has offered the Taratahi Racecourse on lease to the local Hack Bseing Ulub on very favorable terms. A meetiug of the Club will be held on [Saturday next to consider the matter.
Captain Hill, of the good ship Himalaya, who has been having a] holiday in the Wairarapa,gave a sooial to his friends at Gladstone on Thursday in tbe Town Hall. There was a latge attendance ot visitors from all parts of the district, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent,
