Mr T. Bay has offered the Taratahi Racecourse on lease to the local Hack Bseing Ulub on very favorable terms. A meetiug of the Club will be held on [Saturday next to consider the matter.

Captain Hill, of the good ship Himalaya, who has been having a] holiday in the Wairarapa,gave a sooial to his friends at Gladstone on Thursday in tbe Town Hall. There was a latge attendance ot visitors from all parts of the district, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent,
