LOCAL BODIES.
Subsidies and Grants. (By Telegraph,-Press Association.) Auckland, Thursday. At a conference of delegates from the whole of the Northern County Councils at Whangarei, it was resolved to recommend that subsidies and grants to Local Bodies, be pafd in the spring instead of in the wiutet, that the amount of the subsidy be increased from ten to twenty shillings for every pound rate collected, that the Government be requested to get the Local Bodies Act amended so that the subsidy be paid on tho amount of rates received, not on the amount collected by Eoad Boards,
