' Friday. : On Wednesday morning as the up train was leaving the station, a pas- , senger who had left his carriage tried i to get aboard, but he was promptly stopped by our able stationmoster, The disappoint passehger then wanted to make his way along the rails, but tins was also vetoed by the Btatioumaster, so our friend had to tramp the remainer of his journey to Grey town. Our atationmaeler deserves ' gjeat credit for the way he tries to clleek tliig risky and unfortunately common practice. Nine trucks of sheep, consigned to the Gear Company, went down by yesterday morning's goods train.. The Kniwaiwai cricketers brought their season to a close last night with a dance at the Public Halt, there were 15 ladies and 80 gentlemen present, The floor was iu excellent condition and all enjoyed themselves very much. . ■
