Featherston Notes.
(From Our Own Correspondent,) Mr Ewen, of the Bank of N.Z., left for Wellington on Saturday, and leaves for the Old Country during the week, having obtained leave of absenoe for eight months. This morning a special train with sheep went from here, Thero were twenty-three truoka, half of which were for the Gear Co,, and the other half for the Export Co. A change in the weather has set \i here, heavy rain falling ever since the early morning and the atmosphere very cold, indeed, . ! Business was unusually quiet at the station this morning, there only being; three passengers for the down uainjj Mr Freeth's Revolt and Vtolonce went down to Wallington on Satur* day en mule for the Nelson meeting, The agent of tho Blind Musical Students has put in an appearance hero, and we, «ro to be treated to n displuy by them on Thursday next, and we havo every reason to expect an interesting performance,
