A one-man steamer competition took place yesterday at the Maaterton Municipal Fire Brigade station for a handsome medal given by a hearty supporter of the Brigade. The conditions of the competition were to run twenty-eight yards to the engine, connoit length of suction hoae, run out two single 100 feet of delivery and fix hranohes. Nine firemen competed, and Engineer liraggins having made the fusteat run (lniin 60sec)was awarded the medal.
