N.Z. DAIRY FARMERS' UNION.
Meeting at Fernridge. An adjourned meeting was Held at the Upper Piain School on night to! meet Mr D. H. Boberts, secretary of the N.Z. jDairy Union, re erecting a creamery at tbe Fernridge, Twentyfive settlers, including some business men of Masterton interested in the question, attended, Mr I. Sykes being voted to the ohair. A guarantee of 250 cows and 208 shares, representing sixty shareholders and 19 milk suppliers was given. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. A telegram was read from Mr Boberts regretting his inability to attend, and stating that a meeting of Directors would be held at Palmerston North on. 17th SHpt;, when any proposal from tbe settlers would be entertained. Cortespondence from the Head Office was read and explained by the local agent Mr C. H, Gayfer, who was in attendance, After a lengthy discussion >Mr p. McGregor proposed and Mr W, (Nettlnford seconded ihat the okir* man be appointed a delegate to attend the meeting cf Directors at PalmerBton North, with power to accept any proposal which he deemedsatisfactory. —Carried unanimously, A vote of thanks was passed to the business people of Masterton, whu had guaranteed 63 shares, also to Mr Gover and the School Committee, who had kindly placed the schoolroom at their disposal. The meeting then adjourned with the usual vote of thanks to the chairman.
