There were a large, humbov of visitors from Pahlatua and the Lower Valley j but there very few of the old Wellington faces, which are usually met at our Wairarapa raco meetings. Mr Hireobberg (the Olab'a starter) handed the flag.for the day to Mr T, ,5. Hill, and that gentleman performed- the duties allotted to him in a yery able manner, and gave every satisfaction. In the, jlying Handicap Kaitara was left at the post, but this was not Mr Bill's fault., as all the horses seemed to be in a line when the flag fell, The Slim' of £2,024 passed through the totrtlisator during the day, ; Mr E. H, Waddington, the Club's Seoretaty, was, 8B usual, oourteous and obliging, The winner of the Soilingßaoe, Waikino, was put up to auotion, and bought in by the owner for £22.
