Presentation to the Rev. T. McKenna.
The Fates correspondent of the Wanqanui Chronicle writes under date 23rd February, as follows"A social farewell to the Rev.T. McKonna was held in tbe Hall last evening, and was a great success in every way. His Worship the Mayor took the chair, and referred in eulogistic terms to the good qualities of the guest, expressing great regret at losing trim, A few musical items by Mrs and Miss Jacomb, Miss Hurley, and Messrs Aveß and Mitchell were nicely rendered. During the evening addresses were presented from tho congregations of Patea and "Waverly, accompanied by a purse of sovereigns, Then followed a copy of a resolution from the Athletic Sports Association engrossed in vellum, conveying expressions of thanks for the Rev. Father McKenna's assistance in all social amusements, and regret at his departure, The officers of the Association also presented him with a watchchain pendant in a case, as a token of their esteem, The' Football Club also presented, through tiieir President (Mr H,' Gibbonß), a barometer and other things in a handsome case. & After refreshments had been served A abundance, the Bov, Mr HamHnd made an oxoellent and telling BAli, dwelling upon the good of ihe guest and tho good had existed botwetn the HHAgentleman and all tlio-other BHk He also welcomed tho ■HHBTather McKonna returned |HHHkble and feeing manner, at leaving Patea HHHi kindness received members of HH|He also expressed Hammond latter having HBHB|H|Aafter a which ?ras enHH^^HHH^Rresnming a nHWgHgfiiflHKrG at the
