Auckland, Wednosdny. Important argument is proceeding in Banco, in connection with the Bale of shares in the N.Z, Loan and ! Mercantile Agency Company. James Rt'ad, sliarebroktr, is the plaintiff, and Alex, McCorquodah miller, the defendant. The question at issue is whether tho transfer of shares in the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Company, executed in England, is subject to the provisions of the N.Z, Stamp Act of 1882, and whether euoh transfer, irrespective of the Stamp Aot, is a good transfer.
