Ordinary Meeting, The regular fortnightly meeting of the Masterton Borough Council was held last evening. Prosont-His Worship the Mayor, ami Ore flessoy, Hornblow, Mntrie, OuUnn, Foisi, Ohamberlain and W, Perry. MINUTES. The minulos of the last meoting were read and confirmed, THE MOROUE. Mr T. Hutchison, District Coroner, wrote pointing out teat atarecent inquest the jury added a ridor drawing the local authority's attention to the neoessity of supplying the morgue with disinfectants. ■Mwiftl || motion of Cr Feist it was a supply of disinfectants, to be placed undsr the care of Mr Ingram. BERVANT REGISTRY. The Labor Department wroti asking whether the provisions of the Servants HHn'stry Office Act were being oarnfiofcut.—Tho Town Clerk was inßtnotwr to reply to the communication, BOROUOU DEBENTURES. The Government Life Insurance Department wrote stating that they had recently purchased £2,000 of Masterton Borough debentures, and wished to obtain certain information regarding the debentures, The Clerk was instructed to supply the information asked for. CHARITABLE AID, The United District Chantnble Aid Board forwardod account for the ' Borough's quarterly contribution ol £3418s 8d -Referred to the Finance Committee. FIRE BRIGADES. THE WATER QUESTION, Or Hornblow naked permission to adjourn Mb motion re tho proposed water loan until next meeting. Tbe Mayor Baid ho saw no reason for an adjournment. The question was an important one, and the people wished it settled. Could Cr Horn i blow give a sufficient reason for adjournment ? Cr Hornblow said his roason was that he wished to bring forward certain information with whiobhe was not prepared at this meeting, Cr Feist said he thought tbe request a fair one, although ho was quite prepared to bow to His Worship's decision, Tho motion to adjourn Cr Hornblow's notice of motion was then put and carried, On the motion of Or Cullen tho meeting then adjourned,
