Ordinary Meeting. The regular fortnightly meeting of the Masterton Borough Oounoil was held. last evening. Present His Worship the Mayor andOrs Dixop, Hornblow, Mutrie. Tates, (Men, Chamberlain, and W. Perry. MINUTES, The minutes of the last meeting were read and oonfirmed. .TYPEWRITER. Mr W. F. Koydhouse wrote offering to sell a Yost typewriter loaobine to the Oounoil. NABTERTON PARK. Prom the Secretary of the Masterton Park Trust re takinMiver the Masterton Park, andstatiKthatif the Council was prepared topend a , specified sum on the Park annually, the Trustees would favorably oon* ' aider handing over the management. Or Hornblow moved that a com* mitteo be appointed, consisting of the , Mayor and Ors Perry, Mutrie, and the mover, to consider the advisability of merging the Park Trust into the Borough Oounoil.—Carried, AH OFFER. From 0. T. Natusoh offering to forego half the regular oommisßioa usually paid to him, if entrusted with any work for the Borough, to compensate them for any loss occasioned by his recent enforced bankruptcy. ; AUDIT FEE, J . An account for auditing the Borough accounts amounting to £5 13s Id was passed for payment. BALANCE sheet! LjLa, The balance sheet of theviJoWujii, duly passed by the Audit Department was received. MEASLES. The Mayor said the Council had been advised that they would have to pay Dr Beard's account for reporting measles. Or Gullen said it was outrageous that they should have to pay an ao-/ count which they oould not check. He did not say there was anything wrong with Dr Beard's account,, but how could they tell that the casts reported had been measles \ After some little discussion, the account was passed for payment. NGAMATAWA ROAD. The Mayor moved and Or Cullen' seconded that Mr W. Perry's olaim of £9B, for land on the Ngamatawa road be paid,—Carried.. REPORTS. The reports of the Finance Committee was read adopted. : FOOTPATHS. Cr Dixon moved that the propertyowners in Queen«atreet from- the Prince of Wales Hotel to Boss-street' beinterviewed with the view of getting their assent.to paths fronting their |J§|Mk[ Or Yates - waß carried., TOWN OREEK, Or Hornblow asked if the Oounoil intended to tako any action to flush out the Town Oreek; It was now. a menace to the health ot the town, The Mayor said the only way to flush it would he to get Mr Benall's • water. Or Hornblow thought if this was to it should be obtained, IYE-LAWS. The report of the Committee ap». pointed to deal with the borough bje-> laws was read and adopted The Mayor moved that the special. meeting ft bye-laws be adjourned till , the next ordinary meeting of,;the Council.—Carried. , v , On the motion of the Mayor, Dixon was inoluded in the Bye-law Committee. ■ On the motion of Cr Oullen the I Oounoil then adjourned.
