DEATH OF MR FARQUHAR GRAY.
We very uuch regret to. have to lOord the somewhat unexpected death : Mr Farquhar Gray, one of [aiterton'e oldest andmpst pnynineat ittlers, who passed away it his isideuee, Tantahi, at an early hour ■ lis morning. Mr Gray was a native t Boashire, Sootlaud, and came to ew Zealand in 1866. He was for few months with Mr Richard lollins, of Te Ore Ore, mi in' the ime year opened a blaclfSiilHyriiop i Ohuroh Street, afterwards rem?®* ighis business -to Queen. Thistle Lodge, le alio, in the year 1871, took an lotive part in the founding of Court jojal Enterprise A.0.F., anil up to ihetimeof his demise,continued to. »ke an aotire interest in the institu« iion, retaining the position of Trustee )f the Court, of whioh he was a P.CJ.R. \ In 1891 Mr Gray was eleotedPresilent of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society, and in 1892 President of the Masterton A, and P. Association, ably filling each position. For some years past Mr Gray has been troubled with an internal oomplaint which ultimately proved fatal, although his end was hardly expected so Boon.
