• General Meeting* , A meeting of the abova. c lab. was held on the 18th January. There was LX a large attendance of members, Mr y k ■■"• Gundorson (President of the club) -■' '■■' occupying the ohair. • ■ The Secretary (Mr "Geo. Franklin) reported the receipts of fie Sports on the 17th December to be over £IOO, ■ and tho expenditure about £B3, leaving a credit balance of £l7, which ' was considered Very satisfactoiy. The meeting.after thanking the Secretary for his past services voted ' him a bonus of £B. . i ' A hearty vote of thanLs was passed to all those wbo'nsaiated to make the hn Sawing and Hewing Comtatition a success, especially Messrs JjoLeod and T. Wyetb, of the Opaki saw mills, who took the trouble of placing the logon the ground, besides assisting financially. They deserve great' credit for the same, and it is probable th'esecompetitions will eventually beoome & leading feature at the WairaraW | Sports meetings.- <■ \' "1
