Auckland, Septombor 16.

A correspondent from Norfolk bland, .under date September 9, says the first local case of murdot occurred a fortnight ago. A single girl named Qrena Christian gavo birth to a female child. The same night she carried it 200 yards and threw it down an empty well, broaking its back, arms and head. At the inquest a verdiot was returned that the child was killed by being thrown down a well. It is prosamed that the authorities, as there is no law in tile island to deal with the matter, will refer it to the Governor of New South Wales, who is Governor of the island.
