Monthly Meeting,

The usual monthly meeting of the Masterton Hospital trust was held yesterday, afternoon there being present Messrs J. 0. Boddington (chairman), Dalrymple, B. Boya. J. B.Ksith and B.P.Perry

A letter was read from Mr J. Yilo Mayor of Pakiatua, recommending J, Oxenbam for admission to "the Hospital.

The chairman said he wished to say a few words on ihe matter. A man had called at his house at a little, before five o'olock on Thursday afternoon last, He was out at the time, but was told that the man had called <?ith a letter from the Mayor of Pahiatua. A little before six the man called again and he (the Chairman) saw him. The man appeared to he suffering from an iujury to his leg and said ho wished to get into the- Hospital. It was then pointed out that it would be necessary to see the medical I officer in accordance with the rules, before admission to the Hospital, and the man wasaccompanied'by Mr Boddington'slittlehoy to the doctor's. Immediately after tea he (the Chairman) went down himself and mto boy, who told him that tbe doctor was out. Ho then took the man to Mrs Gunther's Boarding House, and having explained that Oxenham had been ! sent down from Pahiatua he ordered I the man tea, bed and a breakfast, and told him to go to the doctor in the mom- , mg.The man didnotgo to thedoctorand on enquiry it was found that he got the worse for liquor the night before ■mi had started out stating he was going to the doctor's. On enauiry | from the police he had found out the man had gone off down the Valley. It was plain from the aotion taken thatOxonham was not anobjeotfor sympathy,

PATIENTS, The Patients' Diary showed that six patients were in the institution at the beginning of the month; eight were admitted during the month and eleven oisoharged, leaving three in the institution at the preßent time.

He would move that Messrs Boys, Dalrymple, Keith and the mover be a sub-com-mittee to deal with the matter,— Carried. VISITING MEMBER, _ Mr V 7. H. Beetham was appointed visitor for the ensuing month, and the meeting then wont into committee to deal with patients' accounts.
