The Government Licensing Bill is " how pssing gaily through tlio Legislative Council. Nearly all the important olanses were passed in committee yesterday afternoon. There were Beveral divisions but the supporters of the provisions of the Bill were in a large majority. N THE ELECTORAL BILL, Was finally pasßed in the House of ■Representatives lust evening, • the Premier moving that the atrendments made by the Legislative Council be agreed to. Several members took tho opmjrtunity of declaring that the Government had been attacked and aialigned most unwarrantably overtbis measure, the passage of wbicb—from first to last-the Premier and his colleagues had done tbeir best to facilitate, There was considerable disoußsion over the FINANCE aUd taxation proposals of tho* Government, The second reading of the Land and In> come Tax Assessment Amendment Bill was only passed at three this morning. During the discussion there wero a number of lively episodes, Tho Colonial Treasurer and Mr Thos. of Glutha, were called to Wmi calling one another untruthmT and about a dozen ineffectual ' attempts being made to count out the House.
