WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB.
Annual- Meetinq, The annual meeting of the above Club was held in tht> Greytown Foresters' Hall, yesterday afternoon, the meeting lasting five hours, It was by far the largest attended meeting yet held, tbero boing bo less than 78 members present. Mr N. Grace, Vice-president, was voted to the chair. The report and balance sheet wore inland adopted. The.mption of MrMcShane "That the number of stewards to be elected (outside- ex officio officers) be nine instead of twelve as at the prosent" naß lost, as was the same gentleman's motion " That the financial year end on 81st May and the annual meeting be held in June. Subscriptions to be due in June."
The motion of Mr Wilkinsoa "That all peraons. wishing to become members after (bis annual meeting shall pay an entrance fee of il in addition to tbo annual subscription of XI," was altered to read " within ono month after thisaniiual meeting," end WHutton's motion "ThatMe 4 of the meeting of members be amended by the addition of the following wordß, 'That only half of the number of stewards retire annually to be decided by lot at the fust meeting of Stewards, and that the whole number retire at the end of the third year, and a general election take place'" was lost. Mr W. E. Bidwill'B motion " That bonuses be voted only at tho id of the annual meeting of members" was carried.
The following stewards were then elected:- Messrs W..E.Bidwill,o. E. Bidwill, J. 8. Gundy, G.'F.H. Hutton, W; J. tfix, A. McKenzie, B. Wzard, W. 0. Williams, Geo. IWBb, A. M. WilkiDßon, F. W. Surra W. Bock. Two members were proposed as judges, viz: \V. .Cundy and W. 0. Williams, the former being elected. Mr 8. Cundy was appointed starter; E, W, Dorset, clerk of scales j Mesara F, 0, Smith and Kaowles,- auditors; Mr. WisbaW, clerk of course'; Mr N. Grace,-vflfikee'per, ■ ■ The question of secretary was left over to the stewards, applications to be invited for the It was resolved that ibe stewards spend the same amount in stakes bb last year, viz; £1,250. A bonus of 20 guineas was granted unanimously to the late Secretary, JJt.W. Club, The motion was debated at [Considerable length and lost,;ifi amendment being carried that the W.R.O. was quite srttisfied with the representation it now has at tie racing conference. -,..... * It was agreed ihl some assistance should bo given towards pulling the Grejtown training track in good order. Votes of thanks were passed to the steward?, and to Mr W. E. Bidwiil for hie vnlunblo assistance to tiie tree planting, and to the jtrtgo and starter. About twenty new members.weie proposed and the meeting adjourned.
